The Academy of Medicine Ottawa (AMO) will host its third annual Clinical Day on Friday, 26 February 2010. The interdisciplinary education event for health professionals,AMO’s Clinical Day is designed for physicians, nurses andalliedhealth professionals, with the objective of improving clinical practice and the health of patients.
Through this unique event the AMO’s aim is to improve medical management, scientific understanding and interprofes-sional care for patients with common conditions frequently seen by many health providers, including concussions, depression, metabolic syndrome and cancer. Our needs assessment survey rated these four complex medical problemsas most concerning to Ottawa health providers. Our intent is to provide the highest level of continuing medical educationin an interdisciplinary format that will build awareness of options, resources and strategies to successfully improve careof patients with these conditions in our region.
The AMO’s Clinical Day will provide a forum for learning and networking for physicians, nurses, and allied health profes-sionals with an interest in improving their knowledge and understanding of patients with these complex but frequentlyencountered conditions.
