Technical Support & Help CIS provides the most comprehensive set of functions to maintain your patients’ records electronically. CIS has been designed to keep time-consuming typing to a minimum by using templates and short-cut tools. Whether you choose to type your own records, use dictation software, or hire a dicta-typist, CIS is flexible enough to accommodate your style of creating electronic records.

The record keeping is organized according to the SOAP principles used by most practitioners in the medical industry. CPP information is automatically extracted for presentation of the initial view of the patients’ medical records and can be organized in one of two views, boxes organized by category or tabs with selected data viewable in tabs set up by you.

The CIS EMR system is set up so that each physician using the system in a clinic setting can customize many functions to suit his or her style without affecting how other members of the staff like to work.

When in the EMR, data such as Last Visits, Mini CPP, Activities, and Chronic Disease is displayed on the right side of the window so that information from a patient’s past visits is readily available without switching from the information you are currently entering.

Using Templates

CIS comes with a very comprehensive set of data entry templates to guide you through the process of collecting information from the patient. These templates are professionally designed by physicians and can easily be modified to suit your style of practice.

Historical Data Collection

Most of this data falls under the Subjective category. This is information is usually collected on the patient’s first visit and includes social history, allergies, family history, past hospitalizations, the use of street drugs, etc. The entry of data is simple and quick as the CIS learns the questions you ask and the information you collect, so you do not have to retype repeated questions or answers from patient to patient.

Current Visit Data Collection

In the Current Visit Data Collection window, your nurse will enter vital signs data. You have the ability to use preset data entry fields or typed shortcuts. When you use the shortcuts you are prompted via a template on how to enter the information. The system knows how to store the information so that it automatically appears in the right section of the SOAP and is stored as relational data for future analysis and charting.
